All I remember was fallin’ asleep and bein’ pushed out into the cold.

Walkin’ and talkin’ just seemed to come natural

but it’s hard to learn to do what you’re told.

ABC’s and 123’s, bugs and bikes and basketballs,

Preacher man with a book in his hand: rules, regulations, and laws.

Don’t know what became of that bright-eyed kid

Pretty soon, you can do the work of a man

Ten lucky fingers where the touch still lingers

long after you’ve forgotten their names.

Nine months later, there’s a little tiny baby.

Soon, the little baby’s gonna be nine.
